Dear VASPA Members:
Dr. Thomas A. Elliott, assistant superintendent, Division of Teacher Education, Licensure, and Best Practice, has invited VASPA to submit nominations to fill five vacancies on the Advisory Board on Teacher Education and Licensure (ABTEL).
ABTEL is composed of 19 members, and it advises the Board of Education on policies relating to the qualifications, examinations, licensure, and regulations of teachers and other school personnel required to hold a professional license to practice in the public schools. A copy of an excerpt from the Code of Virginia providing additional information about the advisory board is enclosed
If you would like to submit nominations for the vacancies, please complete and FAX the enclosed form(s) supplying all the requested information on your nominee(s). Please send all nominations to Eddie Antoine at FAX: (757) 597 2967 by June 12. The VASPA Executive Committee will tally all the nominations received and submit to Dr. Elliott those nominees with the highest tally in each category.
